3:30 PM Visit to El Morro Castle, a fortress built in 1589/

8:30 PM Dinner at Paladar “Santis”, located in Jaimanitas.

DAY 2

OLD HAVANA
Experience the restored beauty of the colonial heart of the city with a walking tour of Old Havana.

10:00 AM Depart hotel for Old Havana on a carriage ride.
10:30 AM Begin walking lecture on Old Havana. Converse with local residents regarding the restoration process in the old quarters of the city, and the socio-economic impact on their lives.
1:00 PM Lunch at Paladar “Nao”, located in Old Havana.
3:00 PM Guided visit to the Napoleonic Museum, which houses the former private collection of sugar baron Julio Lobo.
4:30 PM Depart hotel for a visit to the University of Havana campus and its grand staircase, located across the Napoleonic Museum.
5:30 PM Return to Hotel
8:30 PM Depart hotel for dinner at “Café del Oriente,” located in the Plaza de San Francisco

DAY 3

THE MODERN HAVANA

9:30 AM Depart hotel for a visit to the former Ernest Hemingway Estate, “Finca La Vigia,” located in the town of San Francisco de Paula.
12:00 PM Trace the path of the Cuban Revolution in a visit to the Revolution Square.
1:00 PM Visit to the Hotel Nacional and its famous Terrace Lounge, overlooking the Malecon. Lunch at La Barraca located on hotel grounds.
3:00 PM Guided visit to the ISA, the National Schools of Arts, considered one of the best examples of modern architecture in Cuba.
5:00 PM Return to Hotel
7:30 PM Depart Hotel in classic cars from the 50’s to Paladar “La Esperanza” located in Miramar.
8:00 PM Dinner at La Esperanza, one of the original Paladars in Havana. Enjoy a chat with the owner, Hubert Corrales, and learn about the challenges that private enterprise face in the current economy.
10:00 PM Cabaret Show at Tropicana.

DAY 5

Havana / Cienfuegos / trinidad

COLONIAL TOWNS IN CENTRAL CUBA: CIENFUEGOS
Tour of the neoclassical city of Cienfuegos, founded in 1819, declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

9:00 AM Depart hotel for Cienfuegos.
12:00 PM Arrive to Cienfuegos. Visit the “Club Cienfuegos”, the former Cienfuegos Yacht Club. Visit the Palacio de Valle. This building, lavishly decorated with Gothic, Venetian and Neo-Moorish motifs, is a great exponent of the Eclectic style in Cuban architecture.
1:00 PM Lunch at Paladar “Villa Lagarto”, located in Punta Gorda Peninsula.
3:00 PM Walking lecture tour of central Cienfuegos.
6:00 PM Depart for Trinidad
7:30 PM Arrive at Hotel in Trinidad. Following check in, proceed to dinner at hotel restaurant.

DAY 6

Valle de los Ingenios/Trinidad

COLONIAL TOWNS IN CENTRAL CUBA: TRINIDAD
Tour of the colonial Village of Trinidad, founded in 1514, and the Valle de los Ingenios, both declared World Heritage Sites by UNESCO.

10:00 AM Depart Hotel for Tour of the Valle de los Ingenios, Valley of the Sugar Cane. Meet with local artisans and visit their studios.
12:30 PM Return to Trinidad
1:00 PM Lunch at Paladar “Sol Ananda”.
3:00 PM Walking tour of the Museum of Colonial Architecture, Plaza Mayor, “Palacio Cantero”, Municipal Historic Museum and the Romantic Museum
5:00 PM Return to Hotel.
8:00 PM Depart for dinner at Paladar “1514”.

CIENFUEGOS / HAVANA

9:00 AM Depart for Havana
1:00 PM Arrive at Hotel in Havana.
2:00 PM Depart for lunch at Sloppy Joe’s Bar in Havana famous as a refuge for American tourists during Prohibition.
4:00 PM Visit to Callejon de Hamel, a socio-cultural project in Central Havana.
5:30 PM Return to Hotel.
8:30 PM Depart hotel for “Paladar de los Mercaderes”, located in Vedado.
